the pie hole + transmission: LA

last sunday, may 6 - apologies for the week-long delay - we headed downtown to hit up the charming pie hole for a return visit. we tried their incredible maple custard the first time out, so we opted to go savory (bacon-wrapped meatloaf) AND sweet (blueberry cheesecake) this time. happy to report that the former was every bit amazing as it sounds - a delicate flaky crust hugging a moist & delectable meatloaf.

after some lounging at our curbside table, we wandered thru little tokyo, where we saw a procession of peeps headed towards MOCA. we eagerly followed and came upon a kaleidoscope of colored benches along with the biggest mercedes benz emblem i've ever seen. the beastie boys' mike d.'s art festival transmission: LA happened to be going on, and the best part was that it was free!

it turned out to be quite a feast for the senses - there was cool & dynamic art, good music and even roy choi there cookin up food...
