after crossing the finish line, i kind of stumbled around in a daze, filling up on gatorade and fruit while figuring out just what to do. i hugged and high-fived a few racers, then proceeded to the finish line to wait for vim to cross. after a few post-race group photos, we headed to the new dos equis beer tent to reminisce about what we just accomplished.

i really wanted to try out the rock wall, but wisely left the climbing to heidi since i had zero left in the gas tank. some photos of her in action:
properly famished, we all headed out for some much-needed grub at the reel inn, a venerable seafood joint on the PCH in malibu. it was my first time there, so i opted for the fish (red snapper) & chips, and heidi went with the cajun-style ahi.

after lunch, we strolled across the street - by way of the PCH underpass - to the beach to enjoy the sand and crack open some almond champagne from wilson creek winery in temecula, CA, where tara just visited the day prior. just a lovely way to wind down with friends after completing our first trail half...
